Emergency Response Plan: Notification Rosters and Procedures
General
The ability to notify key university personnel in a timely manner of an emergency on campus is a top priority. The University Police Department has contracted with the ALERT-NOW Emergency Notification Service to assist in this task. This service will allow us to send one recorded message via telephone to all key university personnel alerting them of any emergency situation.
Procedures
- When an incident or emergency situation on campus reaches a level where it can no longer be handled by routine measures the Emergency Operations Center will be activated and key university personnel that make up the Operations and Executive Groups will be notified via the ALERT-NOW Emergency Notification Service.
- The ALERT-NOW Emergency Service will send a recorded message via telephone, to key departmental personnel listed in the enclosed Emergency Notification Roster. The message will indicate the nature of the emergency and specify a time and location for key personnel to meet.
- Once the key department personnel are notified of an emergency they are responsible for alerting their own staffs and for sending one representative to the initial Emergency Operations Center (EOC) meeting.
Emergency Notification Roster
This is a list of primary and alternate representatives from critical departments that will be notified via the ALERT-NOW Emergency Notification Service when a serious incident or emergency situation exists on campus. It is imperative that departments keep this list up to date and accurate at all times. (See Enclosure for the current roster).
